How to host your website on the cloud

We will go through setting up a vps and use it to host your app.

Almost every business is moving at least partially online, because of the difference in engagement. Internet is a tool we need to use, not because we want but because we need.

Are you looking for a reliable and scalable cloud hosting solution for your business or project? Look no further than DigitalOcean. With its high-performance servers, global content delivery network, and intuitive control panel, DigitalOcean makes it easy to set up and manage your cloud resources. Whether you're a developer, tech startup, or small business owner, DigitalOcean has something to offer. In this article, we'll explore the features and benefits of DigitalOcean and why it's a top choice for businesses and developers alike. So, let's get started!

DigitalOcean is a vps provider. VPS stands for Virtual Private Server, and DigitalOcean is very good at it.

I think that when choosing a cloud provider, you need to take into account not only pricing, but also support and documentation. Support is provided in many ways, they even have tutorials on their page. Documentation is also very good.

Another thing to consider is bandwidth. This is where most of lesser known companies get you. You must pay close attention to your allowed monthly bandwidth and plan according to your business needs. Remember that you will host your business on that website.

I know I did not mention pricing. This varies a lot and if you are not technical you should get advice from a professional. This is because your application's needs will be very specific. You might need more storage or performance from your server. This is why you should always plan ahead. But here is the great thing about digitalocean: you can start small and then upgrade your server to match your needs. You will not have to change configurations or anything; just go to your dashboard and make the required upgrades. As with everything else, you should first try digitalocean. There is a way to get started for free, with $200 in credits for you to spend however you want for the first 60 days of your subscription. So there is no reason for you not to go ahead and check it out.

Click here and start building. Create as many instances as you want and see how much it would cost you based on your needs. After the 60 days you could choose to keep using them or not. But I would definetly recommend them.

The way it works is you just create droplets (private servers in the cloud) and connect remotely to those droplets through username/password, or using ssh. Another cool thing is that you can select your droplets to have static IPs, which means you could just buy a domain name and point it to that IP address, upload your website onto it and your're good to go.

In reality, the procedure for setting up your server is more complicated than that, but luckily digitalocean has a lot of tutorials about basically anything you might want.

I have tried many VPS providers, and only digitalocean provided me with such a balance between price and performance. Documentation is also a big plus.

Happy typing and swiping.
